A Way To Restore Balance

Jin Shin Jyutsu is a gentle, hands-on healing art that helps restore balance by supporting the body’s own energy pathways. Using only the hands, it works directly with the body’s natural intelligence to release tension, clear congestion, and restore harmony on all levels -  physically, mentally and emotionally. 

The System of 26 SELS

At the heart of Jin Shin Jyutsu are specific energy sites on the body known as the 26 Safety Energy Locks (SELS), which are unique to this Art.

There are 26 on the left side and 26 mirror images on the right side of the body.These are not points, but spheres of concentrated energy, located on the body according to their meaning and function.

By lightly placing the hands on these SELS we can restore and harmonise the flow of energy and therefore facilitate the body’s natural capacity for self healing.

The Safety Energy Locks function like circuit breakers within our energy system. When life’s stresses accumulate, these sites can ‘lock up’ - warning us that we are moving toward imbalance. When they are held, energy is supported to move freely again, encouraging clarity, ease, and vitality throughout the whole being.

What This Class Is About

This live, one-session class offers a clear, practical introduction and review of all 26 Safety Energy Locks.

This class is for you if you are encountering the Safety Energy Locks for the first time, or would like to simplify, refresh, and reconnect with them.

You will be guided step by step to:

  • Locate each of the 26 Safety Energy Locks on your body

  • Learn how to hold each one comfortably 

  • Practise simple self-help holds throughout the session

  • Develop a sense of how each SEL supports harmony, flow, and balance

The emphasis is on practical self-help and learning by doing, rather than memorisation or theory.

The intention is not to go into depth but to familiarise you through direct practice, so these holds become something you can return to easily and confidently in daily life.

What You Get

Live Online Session: A guided 2-hour class with Astrid, including space to ask questions.

Replay Access: The session will be available to watch from the following day, so you can review it again at your own pace.

Notes: Clear, supportive notes including key points, diagrams, and simple outlines of the self-help holds for easy reference.

Who is Astrid Kauffmann? 

Since 1999, I have clocked up tens of thousands of hours in the study and practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu. 

I have also taught well over two thousand students in offline and online classroom settings over the last 26 years. From their own feedback, often inspiring them to study and practice further.

Ever since those early days when I used a couple of simple hand positions to stop a migraine, to the awareness of MYSELF today, Jin Shin Jyutsu IS now as fundamental to me as breathing.
